We offer a range of services to support mental health, addiction recovery, and overall wellness. Each treatment plan is personalized to meet the individual needs and goals of our clients.

Addiction Medicine & Recovery Support

  • Medically supervised detox services, including evaluation, lab testing, medication management, and close follow-up. Detox plans typically range from 7 days to several weeks, depending on individual needs.

  • FDA-approved medications (such as Suboxone, Naltrexone, Sublocade, Vivitrol, etc.) are used alongside therapy to reduce cravings, manage withdrawal, and support long-term sobriety.

  • For individuals transitioning out of detox or residential treatment, we offer focused care for the first 30–90 days of sobriety — addressing cravings, mental health symptoms, and relapse prevention.

  • Ongoing support through monthly check-ins (or as needed) to help clients maintain long-term recovery, adjust medications, and navigate life stressors.

Integrative Mental Health Care

  • Comprehensive mental health assessments with a focus on safe, effective treatment planning for conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and ADHD.

  • Individualized talk therapy sessions using a variety of modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, and trauma-informed care.

  • Incorporating practices such as meditation, breathwork, movement, and body awareness to support nervous system regulation and emotional resilience.

  • Evidence-based recommendations to improve mental wellness through sleep, diet, movement, and stress reduction strategies.

Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy

Psychedelic-assisted therapy is a rapidly evolving field that combines the use of psychedelic medicines with professional therapeutic support to promote deep healing, emotional insight, and long-term growth.

We recognize the growing body of research supporting its potential in the treatment of depression, anxiety, PTSD, and addiction. We’re committed to providing accurate, thoughtful education about this modality to help clients make informed decisions about their care.

Our approach emphasizes:

  • Clinical Integrity: We draw from credible, peer-reviewed research and real-world outcomes to share balanced information about psychedelic-assisted therapy.

  • Personal Empowerment: We support clients in exploring emerging options with curiosity and discernment, without pressure or hype.

  • Whole-Person Healing: We view psychedelic tools as one potential pathway—among many—in a broader healing journey rooted in connection, stability, and integration.

Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy

At TapRoot Healing, we offer Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy (PAP) using ketamine within a structured, supportive therapeutic framework. Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic with unique antidepressant and neuroplasticity-enhancing properties, making it a promising tool for those struggling with treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other mental health conditions.

Unlike recreational or unstructured use, our approach integrates ketamine into a psychotherapy-centered model to maximize both safety and therapeutic benefit.

What to Expect:

Preparation

Before any ketamine is administered, clients participate in 1–2 preparatory therapy sessions. These sessions are essential for:

  • Establishing therapeutic rapport

  • Reviewing relevant mental health history and goals

  • Exploring mindset (“set”) and environment (“setting”)

  • Preparing emotionally and logistically for the medicine experience

  • Setting intentions and identifying areas of focus for healing

During this phase, clients will also learn about the ketamine experience—what to expect, how to navigate it, and how to safely engage with altered states of consciousness.

Medicine Session

Ketamine sessions take place in a calm, supportive, and medically supervised environment. The medicine may be delivered via sublingual lozenge or intramuscular injection, depending on clinical indications and individual needs.

Clients are provided with:

  • A comfortable reclined setup

  • Eye shades and headphones with curated music, if desired

  • Ongoing therapeutic support during the experience

  • Vital sign monitoring (when appropriate)

The ketamine experience typically lasts 45–90 minutes and may involve altered perception, deep emotional processing, or visionary insights. While some clients remain conversational, others may enter an introspective, dreamlike state. A licensed clinician is present to ensure safety and provide grounding support as needed.

Integration

Integration therapy is the process of making sense of the experience and incorporating its insights into daily life. This phase may begin immediately following the medicine session or at a follow-up appointment within a few days.

Integration may involve:

  • Reflecting on emotional or symbolic content

  • Processing unresolved trauma or breakthrough moments

  • Exploring new perspectives or behavioral shifts

  • Setting goals and action steps rooted in the experience

This is where much of the long-term healing happens. The insights from ketamine are often subtle and nonlinear, and integration sessions help solidify the therapeutic gains.

Who It’s For

Psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy with ketamine may be appropriate for individuals with:

  • Treatment-resistant depression

  • Generalized anxiety or social anxiety

  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

  • Existential distress (including end-of-life care)

  • Rigid thought patterns or emotional numbness

We do a thorough screening to determine eligibility, including physical health, psychiatric history, and current medications.

Why Ketamine?

Unlike most antidepressants which target neurotransmitters like serotonin, ketamine works on the glutamate system and promotes the growth of new neural connections (neuroplasticity). This can support cognitive flexibility and emotional resilience, even after just a few sessions.

In clinical research and practice, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy has shown promise for:

  • Rapid symptom reduction (often within hours or days)

  • Gaining insight into longstanding emotional patterns

  • Creating a window of openness for deep therapeutic work

When used responsibly and with professional guidance, it can be a powerful catalyst for healing and transformation.
